Miura was an entrepreneur who, after establishing Miura Co., Ltd. in 1959,
built his enterprise into a listed company within just a few years.
Although he was extremely busy as president, he always made room for the arts in his life.
By collecting works of art from all over the world, he derived inspiration f
or his own artistic endeavors which included ceramics, calligraphy and Noh drama.
He also created ceramic panel paintings now known as "Miurart".
Ceramic panel paintings he continued to produce energetically in his later years,
but the project he dedicated his heart and soul to was "MIURART VILLAGE
Unfortunately, he never saw the completion of his museum, but it was his intent
to invite various artists to make and display ceramic panel paintings there.
One of those artists was Cuban master Nelson Dominguez.
Miura encountered the artist's work and contacted him
about creating a painting on ceramic for his museum.
After Miura's death, Dominguez visited the museum while it was still under construction
to fulfill his promise to Miura to complete a work on a ceramic plate
Miura had left behind for the artist's use.
"Light of Life" is the title of that piece.
In this exhibition, the works of two artists will be displayed in one exhibition room.
