<-Nov. 6 > 50th Anniversary Exhibition of Ehime Prefectural Art Museum
Ehime Prefectural Museum was founded on September 1, 1970,
and this year marks their 50th anniversary.
Artists, art lovers and members of the arts community in Ehime
dedicated themselves to opening this museum,and in this exhibition,
collections from the museum's early days and works
from the avant-garde art movement of that time will be on display.
The show will also examine the heritage and future of the museum.

<Oct. 1-Nov. 29>Manabe Hiroshi Exhibition
Born in Uma-gun, now Niihama-shi, in Ehime, Japan in 1932,
Manabe was an illustrator, animator and essayist. He studied oil painting
at Tama Art University and, while still in school,began exhibiting in shows,
contributing to newspapers, magazines and sci-fi novels as an illustrator.
Forming the "Three-Person Animation Circle" with Kuri Yoji
and Yanagihara Ryohei, he presented Marine Snow,a fusion
of projected animation,Noh stage performance and lighting.
He is credited with creating a new genre of illustration design
during Japan's period of economic growth during the 60s and 70s,
one emphasizing urban, futuristic surrealist vistas.

Bansui-So is a French Neo-Renaissance building built in 1922 as the villa of the Duke Hisamatsu Sadakoto, a descendant of the feudal lord of Matsuyama.
It was designated as national important cultural property in 2011. Various events take place on the 1st floor. The luxurious interior decor of the 2nd floor can be viewed for ¥300 (adult).
Bansui-so is behind the Courthouse, a 5-minute walk from the Okaido tram station.

DOGO GIYAMAN GLASS MUSEUM tel: 089-933-3637
Once glassware was called "Giyaman" from the Portuguese word diamante (diamond) which was used to cut glass.
This museum focuses on antique glassware made by Japanese craftsmen. It is located in the Yamanote Garden Place, a 7-minute walk from Dogo Onsen tram station.
